Job Description:
As the Investor Relations Professional you will serve as a client account manager and work with top management to articulate the company's competitive advantages, marketing strategy and corporate culture, while communicating a consistent strategic and financial story. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive and strategic investor relations program. In this position, you will serve as a liaison and channel of communication between our clients and investors, shareholders, analysts and other and influencers in the investment community. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develops and maintains a company investor relations plan
  • Performs a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation
  • Establishes the optimum type and mix of shareholders, and creates that mix through a variety of targeting initiatives.
  • Developing and maintaining an active dialogue with key equity investors, stakeholders and the research analyst community
  • Organizes conferences, road shows, phone and conference calls, email and online Virtual Road Shows activities in U.S. and global markets
  • Works with executives to develop and execute all investor communications, including overall strategy and tactics for implementation
  • Creates press releases, presentations, and other communications materials for earnings releases, industry events, quarterly conference call scripts and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors
  • Provides feedback to management regarding the investment community’s perception of the company as well as the impact of stock repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community
  • Successful Prospecting: Seek qualified IR client candidates and convert them to paying clients

2+ years of Investor Relations experience; BA/BS degree with emphasis in accounting/finance; MBA desired; Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; Ability to work effectively and even thrive in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment; Strong leadership abilities; Superior written and verbal communications, Established relationships in the investment community; Ability to collaborate effectively with the executive team as well as back office support; and Superior client-service skills. Position: Sr Communication Specialist-Financial Communication

Responsible for developing and implementing integrated communication plans in support of corporate and financial communication activities. Develops news releases, presentations, speeches, talking points and other materials to enhance corporate reputation and communication financial and business performance with national, financial and trade media, shareholders and investors, customers, employees, stakeholders and opinion leaders. Develops communication strategies and materials in support of, but not limited to, quarterly earnings calls, Annual Report, Annual Meeting of Shareholders and major corporate initiatives, including transactions. Serves as corporate spokesperson for financial and corporate matters. Carry projects from the earliest stages of concept and development through to successful completion on time, on budget and as measured by achievement of metrics. Responsible for making significant contributions to the strategic communication support of the company and its businesses. Expected to work with a high degree of initiative and independence in anticipating client needs and developing and implementing strategic communication solutions that advance corporate reputation and business objectives.

Specific responsibilities include strategic communication planning, message development, writing, use of research and analytics to drive planning and messaging, media relations, compilation of daily news clips, following and improving upon established processes, strong project management, building and maintaining great relationships with clients and co-workers and communicating effectively with them, using quantifiable metrics to track performance and progress.

Responsibilities are varied and complex and include frequent cross-functional interactions. Will work at both corporate and business unit levels. Will interface with corporate leadership, business unit leadership and business process owners. This position serves as a key contributor on the M&C team in a broad range of communications activities as assigned.


  • 5 or more years relevant experience required; experience related to financial, corporate, corporate transactions and crisis communications required, preferably in an agency setting; energy/utility experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Public Relations, Advertising, etc.) required
  • Excellent writing, verbal, editing, presentation and overall communication skills
  • Expected to demonstrate expertise through writing and editing tests
  • Excellent financial and business acumen
  • Ability to understand and translate complex and technical information into messaging for various audiences
  • Must demonstrate expertise in the development and disciplined execution of strategic communication plans and using research and audience insight to develop key messages
  • Demonstrated discipline in project execution
  • Proven media relations experience, with a particular understanding of financial media
  • Demonstrated understanding of social and digital media and how to incorporate these tools into financial and corporate communication programs
  • Strong dedication to customer service; the ability to remain flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of internal clients and demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for their business
  • Ability to perform market research and analytics
